About Kihon Labs

Tools do not fix commercial systems. Evidence does.

Most fixes start with the tool, the hire or the training. We start with the system they sit on: what is breaking, what it is costing, and what to change first. The work stops at what the evidence can carry, and says so.

What drives us

What we believe.

Growth creates drag in every commercial system. We are here to find where, price it, and change it in the order the evidence supports.

  1. 01

    Customer consequence first

Internal activity matters when it reaches the customer. A handoff that leaks is measured by what the buyer experiences, not by how busy the team was.

  2. 02

    Evidence and opportunity cost

Observed facts, assumptions and estimates are kept apart. A figure is published where the evidence reaches one, and a gap is stated where it does not.

  3. 03

    Specificity over breadth

Built for B2B commercial systems, not for management in general. Roles, handoffs, qualification, coverage, forecasting and governance, read together.

  4. 04

    Compounding capability

An intervention should leave the team able to run it without us. A change owned by the adviser leaves when the adviser does.

Our story

How Kihon came to life.

Kihon started from one recurring experience: a commercial system that everyone could feel straining and nobody could price. Forecasts drifted, handoffs leaked, managers re-checked deals by hand, and no report explained why.

The Socio-Economic Approach to Management turned out to describe the pattern exactly: dysfunction, hidden cost, and the potential it blocks. Kihon applies that research to B2B commercial systems, and holds every engagement to what the evidence can defend.

Cem's journey

  1. The foundation

    Commercial practice

Years inside B2B commercial teams, where forecasts drifted and handoffs leaked for reasons no report explained. The questions Kihon works on were formed here, not in a library.

  2. The vocabulary

    Teaching

Adjunct lecturing in sales and customer experience. Explaining the work to people who had not lived it forced its vocabulary to become precise.

  3. The lineage

    The research

The Socio-Economic Approach to Management, created by Henri Savall and developed with Véronique Zardet and the ISEOR team. The Executive DBA inquiry applies it to B2B commercial systems.

  4. Today

    Kihon Labs

A research-led advisory practice in Barcelona, working with B2B companies internationally. Six engagements, one system underneath, every price published.

Strain is felt by people, so that is where the evidence is read.

Meet the founder

The person who reads the system is the person who rebuilds it.

Cem Gorer, founder of Kihon Labs

Cem Gorer

Founder, Kihon Labs

Cem Gorer is the founder of Kihon Labs, an Executive DBA candidate and an adjunct lecturer in sales and customer experience. The work combines B2B commercial practice with a developing intervention-research programme on how commercial systems break, what that costs, and what changes hold.

He believes a commercial fix should be priced before it is funded, owned inside the company before it is started, and measured against its own baseline before it is called done. That principle drives every engagement, and it is why the first call can end with "not yet".

Our mission

To find where the commercial system is breaking, price it, and change it in the order the evidence supports.

Diagnose before prescribing

Tools, hiring and training are prescriptions. Without a diagnosis they are guesses with an invoice attached.

Social and economic, one system

How people work and what the company earns are the same system observed twice.

Recover hidden potential

The aim is not cost cutting. It is the value a system is currently unable to produce.

In our own words

The thinking behind the framework.

A platform accelerates the operating model beneath it, flaws included. Faster execution is still broken execution.
A list of initiatives nobody has priced cannot be ranked. The one that gets funded is the one whose owner argued best in the room.
Numbers alone hide dysfunction and interviews alone overstate it. A finding needs both, read against each other.
A partnership that cannot end has stopped being useful. The capability has to leave with the client, not with us.
