Build

If you have a system, we fix it. If you do not have one yet, we build it with you.

Every other service on this ladder starts by reading a commercial system that already exists. Build is for the companies where that system has not been designed yet, territory, qualification, outbound, and the CRM are still whatever grew by accident. There is nothing to diagnose here, so the sequence runs in reverse.

Who this is for

Small teams, or no commercial team yet at all.

Build fits companies where the founder is still the primary seller, where the first commercial hires have not been made, or where a small team is selling without any of it having been designed on purpose.

No territory or account logic

Whoever picks up the next lead works it, with no design behind who owns what. There is nothing to reallocate, because nothing was allocated in the first place.

No qualification framework

Deals get pursued on instinct, not against a written standard. Every seller is quietly running their own private version of what counts as a good fit.

No CRM or pipeline structure

Whatever tool exists holds records, not a system. Stages do not match how deals actually move, so nobody trusts the numbers it produces.

Why this runs in reverse

Diagnosis reads a system. Build creates one to read later.

Every other service on this site starts with measurement, because there is a functioning system to measure and a baseline worth establishing. That order is not a preference, it is a requirement: a diagnostic reads dysfunction inside a working system. Where there is no system yet, there is nothing for a diagnostic to read, so building comes first. Once what gets built has run long enough to produce a real pattern, that is the point where Diagnosis becomes useful, not before.

Build reverses where Diagnosis sits in the sequence Two horizontal sequences. The top one, for companies with an existing system, runs System exists, then Diagnosis, then Operation and Partnership. The bottom one, for Build, runs Build, then the system runs, then Diagnosis, arriving at the same final position the top sequence reaches after Diagnosis. The same word, Diagnosis, sits in the middle of one sequence and at the end of the other. with a system already there System exists Diagnosis measures it Operation, Partnership fix it without one yet, Build Build create it System runs for a while Diagnosis now useful

What gets built

The first version of the system, not a finished one.

The goal is a working commercial system that can run for long enough to produce a pattern worth reading, not a polished playbook. Four foundations get built.

ICP, segment, and account ownership

A deliberate answer to who to pursue, why they fit, and who owns each account, sized to the team you have now.

Qualification and sales process

A written standard for fit, evidence, and deal progression, so opportunity quality stops depending on one person's judgement.

A repeatable demand motion

An initial outbound and inbound motion for reaching the right accounts, built to run consistently rather than restart with every deal.

CRM, pipeline, and operating cadence

Stages, fields, definitions, and review rhythms that match how deals move, so the system produces numbers worth trusting.

FAQ

Before you assume this is what you need.

We already have a CRM and a small sales team, is this still Build?
Probably not. If a system already exists, even an informal one, Diagnosis is usually the right starting point, because there is something to read and measure. Build is for when there is genuinely nothing there yet.
How do you build something without a diagnostic first?
The same six dysfunction families still shape the design, applied as a starting structure rather than as a reading of an existing one. There is no baseline to measure yet, so nothing here is presented as a euro figure.
What happens after Build is finished?
The system runs on its own for a period first. Once it has produced enough of a pattern to read, Diagnosis becomes the useful next step, not before.
Is Build included in Partnership?
No. Build sits outside the ladder rather than inside it, because Partnership assumes a system worth running continuously, and Build is for before that system exists.
Where to go next

Three ways to keep going.

See if you already have a system

If there is something to measure, this is the more common and usually cheaper starting point.

See what comes after building

Once a system exists and has run for a while, this is where direct execution against measured findings begins.

Test it on your own system

Ten questions, two minutes. Useful even at this stage, as a first read on where the strain is likely to sit once something exists.

There is nothing to diagnose yet. That is fine, it is where this starts.
